What is Remedial Massage?
And How Does it Help?
Remedial Massage involves various techniques of touch that range from low pressure large movements over an area of tissue, to a deep pinpointed pressure on a specific target tissue.
Remedial Massage also involves stretch including passive stretch where your therapist controls the movement, and active stretch which is led by the patient. During an active stretch you will be asked to turn on a muscle group to perform a specific movement to target a particular muscle or muscle group. These different techniques are used to locate and repair damaged areas of the body.
Remedial massage helps to to re-balance tension levels throughout the body to allow for better posture and movement.
Remedial massage can stimulate the blood supply and make joints more mobile. Massage can help you relieve headaches and stress, relax sore and tight muscles, and correct postural imbalances. Remedial massage can also help aid repair and recovery of damaged tissues when you have suffered an injury.
